The main themes tackled by Etica Sgr during the 2016 shareholders’ meetings season concern:
- Climate change: environmental and carbon accounting policies following the Paris climate agreement (COP21), calculating carbon and water footprints for products and processes, the role of fossil fuels and water management in production processes;
- Food and land: procurement of palm oil, food education, the use of genetically modified organisms (GMOs), use and presence of pesticides, livestock breeding methods;
- The supply chain: focus on the agro-food supply chain and the procurement of minerals from conflict zones.
Besides giving continuity to the issues discussed with companies in previous years, in this season we confront two new questions: IT security and technology and tax evasion.
