{"id":17524,"date":"2012-11-01T14:40:36","date_gmt":"2012-11-01T14:40:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.eticasgr.com\/?p=17524"},"modified":"2018-11-15T10:21:04","modified_gmt":"2018-11-15T10:21:04","slug":"human-rights-in-burma","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.eticasgr.com\/en\/storie\/international-campaigns\/human-rights-in-burma","title":{"rendered":"Human Rights In Burma"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In November 2012\u00a0<strong>Etica Sgr<\/strong>\u00a0sent, together with 14 other members of the <strong>ICCR<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>PRI<\/strong>, a letter to the Chairman of the European Union\u2019s International Trade Committee, containing some specific requests for\u00a0E<strong>uropean companies operating in Burma<\/strong>, where, despite improvements occurring from the perspective of human rights over recent years, there are still significant social criticalities.<\/p>\n<p>In particular, it was proposed that European companies should be obligated, by way of specific policies, to <strong>monitor observance of human rights<\/strong> at their plants located in Burma and to publicly report on the results of such controls: the monitoring activity should also be extended to the supply chain.
