The campaign was promoted by various organisations for the defence of human rights and is aimed at stopping the use of forced labour and child labour resulting from the government’s decision to mobilise millions of citizens to participate in the harvest of state cotton. In particular, in 2014 the government mobilised more teachers, healthcare and other public sector workers than ever.

A report by the United States Department of Labor emphasises the complicity of the Uzbek government in the use of forced labour and child labour for the cotton harvest, despite the presence of ILO controllers and observers in the plantations.

This is a marketing communication. The data and information contained herein are provided for information purposes only and do not constitute investment recommendations.
