A carbon footprint is the total amount of greenhouse gas emissions generated by a company, event, product or person, which fits in with our goal of including emissions data in the environmental analysis of each company in our portfolio.<\/p>\n<p>Based on data provided by CDP (formerly known as the Carbon Disclosure Project), our analysis has revealed that <strong>100 euros invested in the Etica Azionario fund produces 28 kg of CO2e per year<\/strong>, compared to 501 kg of CO2e produced by the same investment in the benchmark index (global stock market)*.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-16016 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.eticasgr.com\/app\/uploads\/2016\/11\/calcolo-en.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1114\" height=\"332\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.eticasgr.com\/app\/uploads\/2016\/11\/calcolo-en.jpg 1114w, https:\/\/www.eticasgr.com\/app\/uploads\/2016\/11\/calcolo-en-300x89.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.eticasgr.com\/app\/uploads\/2016\/11\/calcolo-en-768x229.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.eticasgr.com\/app\/uploads\/2016\/11\/calcolo-en-1024x305.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1114px) 100vw, 1114px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><u>This means that an&nbsp;<strong>investment&nbsp;<\/strong>of 100 euros in our&nbsp;<strong>Etica Azionario fund&nbsp;<\/strong>allows you to&nbsp;<strong>save 473 kg of CO2e&nbsp;<\/strong>per year, which is the same amount of emissions produced by a flight from Milan to Dubai**.<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Furthermore,<strong> 57%<\/strong> of the <strong>companies<\/strong> in the Etica Azionario <strong>portfolio<\/strong> have undertaken energy efficiency and conservation<strong> initiatives<\/strong> <strong>to reduce their own emissions<\/strong>, leading to a <strong>savings of 87,823 tons of CO2e<\/strong>. That\u2019s the same amount of CO2 that 305 km<sup>2<\/sup> of forest would absorb in one year.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"offerta-clienti-istituzionali\">THE DATA WE USE TO CALCULATE THE CARBON FOOTPRINT OF THE ETICA AZIONARIO FUND:<\/h4>\n<ul class=\"offerta-clienti-istituzionali-bordo-giallo\">\n<li>Total CO2 emissions produced by the companies in the fund\u2019s portfolio, equal to 48,095 tons of CO2;<\/li>\n<li>Average emissions of the companies per million euros of turnover, equal to 309 tons of CO2;<\/li>\n<li>Average emissions of the companies per million euros invested in the fund, equal to 283 tons of CO2.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The information reported above was calculated by Etica Sgr based on Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions data provided by CDP. Scope 1 emissions are greenhouse gas emissions that arise directly from sources that are owned or controlled by the company (fossil fuels used in the manufacturing process, vehicle emissions from company cars, etc.).
